THE ASSOCIATE PACKAGING ENGINEER'S PRIMARY ROLE IS TO PERFORM THE TECHNICAL TRANSFER OF PACKAGING PROJECTS, INCLUDING PACKAGING COMPONENT DESIGN AND SET UP. THIS INCLUDES TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THE PROCESS FROM BEGINNING TO END.

THE ROLE
Define appropriate materials and vendors for all project related packaging components
Develop technical documentation (e.g., Process Flow Diagrams, Process Descriptions) to describe operation of the process at large scale
Meet with client technical team to understand packaging requirements and needs
Develop in-process sampling strategy for manufacturing process
Direct the writing of GMP manufacturing documentation, including Process Batch Records and Bills of Materials
Provide technical training as necessary to operators
Provide on-the-floor oversight of the manufacturing process, as necessary
Interact with client technical representatives, including Person in Plant observers on manufacturing floor
Monitor process data, identify trends, present data, and propose action as necessary
Perform technical troubleshooting and investigations of process issues
Perform and document formal deviation investigations as needed
Provide technical guidance and oversight to the validation group to support Process Validation and Continued Process Verification
Work with Manufacturing and Engineering to assess and implement new technology in large scale manufacturing
Maintain relationships with vendors to understand new technology development
THE CANDIDATE
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or Packaging Technology preferred
0-2 years of packaging experience; focus on biotech, pharmaceutical or medical device industry is preferred
1 year GMP experience preferred
