    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Product Development network supports development of biologic modalities (mAbs, novel protein modalities, mRNA, exosomes, enzymes, viral proteins) from initial early phase through late-stage projects to PPQ and launch. The Development team designs and conducts process, analytical, and formulation work. For scale-up, the Upstream (US) based teams in Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) support tech transfer for Downstream (DS) and fill finish (Catalent or client developed processes).

    This position will perform a variety of laboratory procedures in Downstream Process Development. The position will perform daily work assignments accurately and in a timely and safe manner. This position will independently evaluate, select, and apply standardized scientific and techniques to assignments of moderate complexity, involving potentially conflicting design requirements, unavailability of materials or processes, etc. This position seeks continual improvement of work practices from experience with moderate-sized projects and develops extensions to existing methods and protocols.

    This is a full-time, hourly position. Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm.

    THE ROLE:

    • Maintain organization and 5S standard in the development area

    • Execute and document 5S audits of laboratory space and update areas as needed or requested

    • Identify and execute 5S improvement opportunities

    • Accurately complete routine and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment

    • Work on projects involving innovation and process improvements

    • Write protocols and draft reports

    • Display knowledge of protein purification and analysis

    • Design experiments and analyze data

    • Execute small and pilot scale purification experiments including automated chromatography (AKTA platform), filtration, clarification, column packing, and tangential flow filtration with a moderate degree of guidance

    • Review production and development documents with a minor degree of guidance

    • Identify and make preliminary decisions on experimental and client work

    • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

    • File paperwork and work orders

    • Other duties as assigned
