    Job Description:

    Within Corporate Responsibility, Brand and Communications (CRBC), there are five focus areas or teams. In your team, you will be responsible for developing and conducting key communication and administrative activities that are in alignment with and reinforce CRBC’s 2024 objectives and goals. You may also be responsible for collaborating with outside vendors and employees at all levels of the organization on key communication and programmatic activities while on assignment .

    As a Corporate Responsibility & Global Philanthropy Communications Intern, you will be responsible for contributing to the execution of communications activities that enhance AbbVie’s reputation and build trust in its brand, foster confidence in its long-term sustainability, and elevate awareness regarding the purpose-driven programs and initiatives that advance support and access to communities, employees, and patients, including Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), the AbbVie Foundation, and Patient Access programs.

    This position expects interns to be in person, onsite in Lake County, IL for at least three days a week. Housing benefits will be provided to eligible interns.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Please submit a writing sample (blog post, school report, media article, etc.) along with your resume and any other supporting documents (cover letter, letters of recommendation, etc.).

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduating from a university sometime between December 2024 and June 2026
    • Currently enrolled in a university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or Media, or Sustainability
    • Preferred to have either school experience, business experience or emphasis in course work for any of the following: Communications or Public Relations/Public Affairs, Sustainability
    • Demonstrated leadership skills through on-campus involvement or work experience (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Self-motivated & shows a willingness to learn
    • Exhibits strong writing & organizational skills
    • Displays strong project management skills & attention to detail
    • Has a solid grasp on creative production and a good understanding of social media technologies
    • Identifies problems and is solutions-oriented
    • Is comfortable managing task prioritization in a fast-paced environment to adhere to deadlines
    • Minimum GPA o f 3.00
