    Position Summary

    We are seeking a highly motivated student to join our group for a 10-week long summer internship program. A successful candidate will work with their mentor to evaluate methods for inferring compound mechanism of action (MoA). This work will leverage internal and external transcriptomics and proteomics high throughput screening datasets from a large compound library. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn from experienced computational biologists and acquire knowledge about drug discovery in an industry setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and curate scientific literature pertaining to MoA inference methods.

    • Implement and evaluate the performance of MoA inference methods using a large collection of high-throughput proteomics and transcriptomics screening data from internal and partner sources.

    • Compare the performance of different methods and suggest improvement.

    • Deliver and communicate analysis results to internal teams.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Currently enrolled in a MS/PhD program in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, data science, or a similar quantitative field.

    • A strong foundation in molecular and/or computational biology.

    • Highly skilled in one or more scripting languages (e.g., R or Python).

    • Experience working with and manipulating large datasets is preferred.

    • Must be able to work full-time for the program duration.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
