    Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Inventory Reporting, GPS Finance

    Location: New Brunswick, NJ

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in determining the appropriate accounting for certain complex accounting matters within the GPS manufacturing network, including supporting the documentation of conclusions reached.
    • Support the monthly review and alignment of accounting matters across GPS Finance, including supporting the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
    • Support the Finance review of contracts impacting GPS and identify/raise non-routine terms requiring technical accounting review.
    • Responsible for monitoring and tracking the flow of pre-approval inventory, from Risk Authorization through to regulatory approval, to ensure proper accounting and reporting of balances.
    • Responsible for preparing the quarterly workday 10 inventory reporting package.
    • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly presentation of key accounting matters to Corporate Controllership.
    • Responsible for researching and documenting routine accounting matters as part of the monthly and quarterly financial close.
    • Perform month- and quarter-end analyses to support the financial close, including preparation of journal entries.
    • Assist in the coordination and tracking of physical inventory counts.
    • Primary support for the preparation/calculation of the annual inventory revaluation budget and reporting of actuals.
    • Supports the preparation of ad-hoc and other analyses to support key accounting estimates and processes.
    • Help to drive further standardization and optimization of financial processes.
    • Maintain internal control environment to the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
    • Supports external and internal audits, as needed.

    Developmental Value

    • Visibility across leaders within GPS Finance, as well as Corporate Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.
    • Exposure to an array of unique accounting matters impacting GPS, including significant transactions (i.e. acquisitions/divestitures).
    • Unique position with the ability to support and influence key accounting positions and estimates within GPS, as well as being a key contact with end-to-end visibility of global inventory.
    • Opportunity to enhance and streamline processes.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
    • A minimum of 5-7 years diversified experience in accounting and finance. Experience in supporting manufacturing operations preferred.

    Personal Characteristics:

    • Strong technical accounting capabilities (US GAAP), preferably ASC 330, Inventory, and 360, Property, Plant & Equipment.
    • Ability to quickly understand complex or unique circumstances within manufacturing finance and be able to assist in providing consistent accounting guidance/judgement.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and organize large data sets.
    • Must be team oriented and have ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment working with multiple levels of management and partners in various geographic locations.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and be able to work with minimal supervision, as well as demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs and requests.
    • Excellent written/oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Understanding of the internal controls framework and accounting procedures.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to multitask and work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
    • Strong Microsoft Office suite experience, primarily in Excel (including AO) and PowerPoint.
    • Strong Financial system knowledge, primarily SAP and Oracle.
