    Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated student to join our Knowledge Science Research team within Informatics and Predictive Sciences (IPS). Our team is responsible for building reusable dashboards and automated data pipelines to enable collaborative scientific exploration with translational scientists. We have built an API-accessible database of exploratory biomarker data from a large body of clinical trials, which enables rapid quality control and analysis of clinical biomarker data. The successful candidate will work with our team to generate insights into opportunities for harmonizing biomarker data to drive investigation into clinical efficacy and safety across the cell therapy and immuno-oncology portfolio. This is an opportunity to work closely with experienced data scientists and multidisciplinary research teams to implement automated solutions for standardizing data through the application of a controlled vocabulary.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with exploratory biomarker data from CAR T clinical trials.
    • Develop pipelines and reports (Rmd/Quarto) to QC, visualize, and harmonize longitudinal biomarker data across clinical trials.
    • Develop R code using best development practices: track changes in git, structure code into functions and packages where appropriate, and use thorough documentation.
    • Present results and conclusions to internal teams.
    • Investigate batch correction or imputation approaches to standardize datasets from different sources.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Must be able to work full-time for the program duration.
    • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in bioinformatics, data science, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in R for data manipulation and data visualization.
    • Passion for developing reproducible and automated code.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Experience with version control (git), APIs, and reactive frameworks (Shiny, Plotly) a plus.

    Why You Should Apply

The candidate will gain experience collaborating within a data science team and learning best practices building R-based pipelines and dashboards for analysis-ready datasets. Throughout this internship, the candidate will learn about the clinical trial process and cell therapy in an industry setting.
