    Overview

    If you’re a college student, Pfizer Futures is your chance to gain real-world, impactful work experience for 10-12 weeks during the summer. This U.S. program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to grow and develop into the next Pfizer Colleague. 

    With opportunities across the Enterprise, Pfizer Futures interns will support their division’s goals and initiatives while building relationships and learning about Pfizer. 

    The 2026 Pfizer Futures application portal will be open from October 1st to October 31st, 2025. 

    Applications and placements for this program are reviewed on a rolling basis. Interview and hiring timelines differ by division.  

    Responsibilities

    Pfizer Research & Development teams deliver medical care by delivering breakthrough therapies and vaccines faster with uncompromised quality. Pfizer Research & Development is powered by the most talented scientists and professionals in the industry setting the stage for unprecedent success. Pfizer R&D is structured into several specialized units, each offering unique internship opportunities in laboratory and non-laboratory roles:

    • Oncology: An end-to-end unit focused on antibody-drug conjugates and precision medicine, especially following the Seagen acquisition. This group spans discovery through late-stage development. 
    • Inflammation & Immunology: Develops therapies that restore immune balance and reverse disease progression for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. 
    • Internal Medicine: Tackles metabolic diseases, cardiovascular risk, diabetes, and cachexia using advanced science and global reach. 
    • Vaccines: Covers the full lifecycle from discovery to post-licensure, aiming to prevent and control diseases through breakthrough science. 
    • Preclinical & Translational Sciences: Bridges early research with clinical application, fostering strategic partnerships and scientific excellence. 
    • Chief Medical Office: Generates evidence-based insights to inform regulatory decisions and optimize patient outcomes, with a strong emphasis on safety.
    • Clinical Development and Operations: Brings meaningful treatments to patients by delivering the Pfizer portfolio with collaboration, quality, completeness, and speed
    • Portfolio and Innovation: Enables quality portfolio decisions at speed and scaling impactful innovations across R&D. To achieve this, we bring together expertise in portfolio planning, management & insights, program management, strategic partnerships, scientific business communications and AI strategy and business leadership.

     

    Other Information

    • Eligible Pfizer Futures interns in this division will be eligible to apply for a rotational program/full-time opportunity during the Fall of 2026
    • Interviews for this position will begin in the Fall

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Be immediately authorized to work in the U.S. This Program cannot support applicants who require employer sponsored visas now or in the future
    • Be an undergraduate student enrolled in a full-time university program (an accredited college / university degree program at the time of award) 
    • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
    • Have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA as of the most recently completed semester
    • Be able to commute to a Pfizer location 4+ days a week . Please note, some lab/manufacturing roles may require additional on-site days

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    Studying applicable degrees (STEM, Life Sciences, Physics, Mathematics/Statistics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, General Business)

The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.

    In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.

    Pay Rate Range: $26/hr to $29/hr
