Fellows will be trained on the basics of organizing and will then have an opportunity to continue that training while working in a community or campus to carry out grassroots activities under the close supervision of Nevada Dems Organizing staff. This Organizing Fellowship is designed to train and develop a new class of organizers, and help the campaign expand our outreach efforts in communities across the state. Fellows will continue learning throughout the program by participating in trainings and gaining hands-on experience.

As an Organizing Fellow, you will:

• Commit to a minimum of 10 - 20 hours per week
• Organize in a community or on campus, working in conjunction with grassroots leaders and campaign staff
• Engage new potential volunteers through phone calls and canvassing
• Hold organizational meetings and other events to recruit new volunteers and supporters
• Learn and develop organizing skills by participating in ongoing trainings conducted by the statewide organizing team
• Learn and utilize digital organizing tools to expand reach and amplify the message of the Nevada Dems

Requirements:

• Interest in politics and commitment to electing all Democrats on the ballot
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds to work within a team
• Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information with discretion and common sense
• Prior political campaign experience preferred but not required

The Nevada 2018 Organizing Fellowship is an unpaid opportunity. Fellows can receive school credit depending on degree requirements.
