As an Advanced Analytics and AI Intern within RSM’s Data & Digital Solutions practice, you’ll work alongside consultants and data scientists who help clients transform their organizations through data, machine learning, and generative AI. You will gain hands-on experience across multiple industries while contributing to real client projects.

This is a client-facing, collaborative role where you will support projects that blend data engineering, data science, and applied AI. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and excited about how AI can be used to solve real-world business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

You will collaborate with RSM’s Advanced Analytics and AI Consulting team to:

• Design and prototype machine learning and AI models using Python, R, and/or Azure Machine Learning.

• Support the development of Generative AI and AI Agent solutions , including data preparation, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), prompt/system engineering, and model evaluation.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to uncover insights that inform business and technical decisions.

• Participate in AI solution development projects , helping translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

• Contribute to dashboards and analytics solutions that communicate results to business and technical stakeholders.

• Collaborate across regions and disciplines to deliver integrated client solutions.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics , Business Analytics, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience with SQL and Python or R.

• Strong understanding of data science and machine learning fundamentals (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, NLP, generative AI, etc.).

• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt in a dynamic consulting environment.

• Genuine curiosity about using data and AI to drive business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Machine Learning , Azure OpenAI , or other cloud-based ML/AI platforms.

• Exposure to Power BI or Tableau and data modeling.

• Experience or coursework in generative AI , LLMs , or prompt engineering.

• Interest in how AI can enhance decision-making, automation, and efficiency in business processes.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $35 - $41 per hour
