    KPMG is currently seeking an Audit Data Architecture Engineer to join our Audit Data Engineering Services Team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work as part of the audit engagement team to support the use of Data and Analytics (D&A) in the audit including data extraction and analysis; utilize a range of technologies and data analysis tools, such as Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Python and Power BI
    • Communicate with audit engagement teams the technical implications of D&A tools, including extraction of data, processing of data and delivery of audit reports
    • Work with the audit engagement teams to identify the scope of D&A capabilities used in the audit, review data driven reports and understand the insights gained in the audit and how the analysis is used to plan and execute the audit
    • Collaborate with client technology team to understand the technical configuration of the clients environment and discuss the technical implications of performing the data extractions and further analysis needed; learn to prepare clear, well-structured, organized and effective audit documentation for data processing procedures and data validation and documenting accurate status of data processing and delivery throughout the D&A lifecycle
    • Support the execution of a high-quality audit through the diligent performance of assigned tasks and professional client and engagement team interactions
    • Adhere to the Firms Values and Code of Conduct

    Qualifications:

    • Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college/university in one of the fields described below:
    • Major in Finance or Accounting or equivalent program with a concentration/double major in Information Systems (IS); IS coursework with a focus on database management and/or Accounting/ERP systems is preferred; Accounting majors are encouraged to pursue the minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure in state of employment before beginning full-time
    • Major in Information Systems with a concentration/double major in Finance or Accounting; IS coursework with a focus on database management knowledge focusing on Microsoft SQL Server technology and the MSBI suite, including writing SQL stored procedures and data modeling and with additional coursework in ERP systems, financial analysis, data analytics, business intelligence and/or visualization
    • Major in Computer Science or other IT-related degrees with coursework in ERP Systems, financial analysis, business intelligence, data science, data analytics/visualization/automation
    • Major in Statistics or Mathematics with a minor in IS or equivalent coursework in ERP systems, financial analysis, data analytics, business intelligence and/or visualization
    • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Strong communication, time management and relationship-building skills; able to employ sound professional judgment and professional skepticism; flexible and adaptable team player; leadership experience and resourceful in delivering high quality work; ability to demonstrate project management skills is a plus
    • Strong technical aptitude and critical thinking and research skills; ability to navigate various computer applications and technologies, including MS Office, ERP systems and data analysis tools; aptitude to quickly learn KPMG Audit tools and applications used by our clients; understanding or knowledge of SQL, MSBI Suite, Alteryx, Python and/or Power BI is preferred
    • Work location may be in the office but will typically be at client sites, some of which may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office); Audit professionals may have the opportunity to work virtually/remotely in the U.S. depending on business needs
