  • Responsibilities

    The Human Resources (HR) Intern provides administrative support to the Employee Relations team in a variety of areas, which may include employee record maintenance, reporting, compliance, research, etc. This position interfaces with all levels of stakeholders, internally to the RSM organization. In addition, this position will assist with administrative support to other Employee Relations (ER) team members. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Required duties employees must accomplish and performance is measured)    1. Provide administrative support of a responsible and confidential nature for the ER team. Maintain confidential information through the firm tracking systems and human resources information system. Assist with drafting and sending of HR related correspondence, preparation and distribution of documents and other materials as needed. Assist in the coordination and execution of HR objectives, processes and policies.    2. Assist the recruiting and onboarding process by completing various activities that may include tracking the status of background checks, monitoring compliance with new hire processes such as I-9 and training requirements, and updating and maintaining all appropriate actions in accordance with established firm standards.    3. Assist in the management of ER filing, record retention, and maintenance of electronic files.    4. Collects and compiles data as requested from a variety of sources and prepares appropriate reports for analysis.

    1. Based on past experiences and knowledge learned in role, identify opportunities for process or systems improvement, or for greater efficiency within the team/function.

    2. Other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

     - High school diploma/GED required  - Associate degree or some college or an equivalent combination of education and HR experience preferred

    TECHNICAL SKILLS

     - Proficient use of Microsoft Office required  - Prior experience working with applicant tracking and recruitment systems preferred

    EXPERIENCE

    • 3+ years of administrative work experience or previous support of a human resources or recruitment team in an office environment or other confidential environment preferred.
    • Previous experienced within a professional services firm preferred.

    LEADERSHIP SKILLS

    • Ability to initiate, plan, and conduct multiple projects successfully required.
    • Ability to work effectively across a highly matrixed, multi-location organization required.
    • Ability to work autonomously and exhibit a professional demeanor to internal and external clients is required.
    • Required to have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with a varied and diverse population in an effective manner.
    • Required to be adaptable and have very strong organizational, time management and attention to detail skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate judgment with confidential or private information.
