    We are seeking to add a Senior Associate to our Global Compliance & Reporting Services (GCRS) practice. This Senior Associate will work on international client engagements and will be responsible for providing ongoing project management including planning, complex coordination, and issue resolution across non-US corporate compliance services primarily for mid-sized, dynamic global companies.

     

    In this position, the Senior Associate will be able to draw from own experience in the fields of finance, accounting/auditing, and/or tax to help clients improve their internal processes by providing services. The following services could be included International Program Management, Business Analysis, Dashboard Reporting and Data Collection, Financial Operations and Back-office Process Analysis, Process Improvement, Fast Close, and Complex Program Management.  The priority is to focus on client service and support to pursuits. This practice line is one the most exciting and fast-paced opportunities RSM has to offer.

     

    The GCRS practice consists of a virtual team with a concentration of team members in our Kansas City office. Team management and leadership functions are currently located in IL, FL, KC, NY and Germany. The team consists of self-motivated, professional and responsible individuals that practice within the Firm’s Management Consulting LOB. GCRS focuses on providing professional project/program management and coordination services with a framework to assist complex global businesses with their foreign compliance requirements.  

     

    Responsibilities Include:

     

    -        Proactively and effectively escalates technical issues in a timely manner, including escalation of difficult matters to project manager lead -        Interest in obtaining an accredited project/program management certification, such as the Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), or a recognized equivalent, e.g. Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM), Six Sigma Green Belt, Scrum Master, Prince2, or other -        Proficient in the use and application of GCRS tools, terminology, processes and policies, including the use of Global Tracker and the GCRS toolkit -        Understands fundamental project management techniques and strives to become highly proficient with the use of project management principles and techniques -        Understands engagement budget and provides timely updates to the Senior/Supervisor to avoid overruns, and or identify scope of service changes that may warrant a change order -        Responsible for checking Global Tracker tool on a daily basis for assigned clients so that all deliverables are on tracker and liaise with RSM member firms and client to chase and request for updates -        Assists in preparing reports for weekly calls and governance meetings with client. -       Maintains billing schedules, reconciles invoices and liaise with client and RSM member firms on invoice questions. Understands the client billing arrangements -        Consistently meets the firm’s expectations for chargeable hours and margin -        Ability to travel (10-30% per year) post covid.

     

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, challenging environment
    • Background in either audit, tax or accounting preferred, but not required
    • International or multi-location project management experience, including multi-lingual capabilities preferred, but not required -        Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills -        Team player, process orientated, with a priority on output and delivery -        Self-motivated, hands-on approach and practical outlook to problem solving -        Attention to detail, ability to work proactively and independently -        Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure -        Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Power Point and Excel
    • Excellent self-direction and comfort working in a matrix environment -        PMP and CPA preferred, but not required -        Master’s Degree in related field preferred, but not required.

    In this position, you will be able to draw from your experience and finance, accounting, and/or tax knowledge to help clients improve their processes by providing services that could include International Program Management, Business Analysis, Dashboard Reporting and Data Collection, Financial Operations and Back-office Process Analysis, Process Improvement, Fast Close, and Complex Program Management. This practice line is one the most exciting and fast-paced opportunities RSM has to offer.

    IN YOUR IMPORTANT ROLE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING: Responsibilities will include consulting with dynamic, growing US-based companies that have international accounting, financial, compliance and other management responsibilities in order to operate and effectively manage their compliance requirements around the globe. All engagements require dedicated project management and leadership, clear written and verbal communication, process analysis experience and the ability to work in a collaborative environment and international virtual teams. All engagements involve recurring touch points across multiple global locations, timely recurring status updates, development and documentation of improvement opportunities, and may include planning, implementation and dynamic project tracking components. Work will primarily be performed out of the Kansas City office location and virtual team meetings will be a common communication platform and could occur during off-peak hours.  Travel will be limited and likely less than 10-15% annually.

     BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management and/or related field
    • Minimum 1-4 years’ experience in tax, accounting, finance, internal audit, external audit, or financial analysis role
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation skills to reach across all levels of client organizations
    • Experience managing international virtual teams across multiple jurisdictions
    • Experience with complex prioritization, projects or people at the same time
    • Excellent data assimilation and organization skills
    • Extensive experience with MS Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
    • Flexibility to work unique off-peak hours (depending on client and global requirements)
    • PMP, CAPM or other relevant project management certification, extensive project management and/or or other formal project management training
    • Ability to travel (likely less than 10-15% per year).

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent self-direction and comfort working in a matrix environment
    • International or multi-location project management experience, including multi-lingual capabilities
