We are looking for a Contributor to help with our News Publication. This is a remote opportunity, with a monthly stipend.

As a Contributor you will:

• Research, develop, and write news articles about topics related to your interests
• Adapt to The Whim's unique reporting style by categorizing information and filtering out bias
• Monitor current events, policy decisions, and legislative developments
• Pitch article ideas
• Investigate news leads/tips
• Interview news subjects, industry experts, and public officials
• Establish contacts and sources to use in future research
• Find and research primary sources
• Monitor social media for breaking news stories
• Collect and analyze data
• Present each side of an issue

Requirements

• Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in journalism, business, political science, economics, international affairs, communication, or a related field
• Contribute 4 - 5 news articles per week (~ 10 hours/week)
• Willingness to learn
• Uncompromising ethics
