    ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

    The CBRE Finance Internship accelerates your learning and development by providing you with a strong foundation upon which to build your finance career in the commercial real estate industry. This 9-week summer intern program will introduce you to our company, our fast-paced industry and our world-class professionals. Program participants will receive real-world training and participate in networking and learning opportunities. This program gives you the opportunity to work with one of our Finance teams.

    Some of the potential opportunities are:

    • FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS (FP&A) - Leverages knowledge and functional expertise to deliver consistent, world class budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning and analysis support.

    • BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP - Aligns Segment Finance around CBRE’s business and go-to-market strategy by providing consistent, world-class decision-making support.

    • FINANCE PROCESSES - Establishes the governance around process standardization, compliance and innovation.

    • FINANCE INNOVATION OFFICE (FIO) - Provides support for transformational initiatives which strategically combine people, process, technology, and data changes to provide improvements in overall performance.

    • CONTROLLERSHIP - Ensures the completeness and accuracy of the firm’s financial and regulatory reporting. Controllership leverages an analytical mindset and internal controls focus for business strategy and decision making.

    • TREASURY - Refines and improves CBRE’s global cash management by driving automation and standardization projects to create operational efficiencies.

    • TAX - Improves the tax efficiency of CBRE's operations and optimizes the tax results of acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations while ensuring that tax filing and payment obligations are met, and tax activity is accurately reflected in financial reports.

    The summer internship will begin in June 2023 and end in August 2023. Interns will be located in either Dallas, TX or Los Angeles, CA. Please only apply if you can commit to working in person in either Dallas or Los Angeles during the 9-week summer program.

    RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE

    • Design and deliver insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics

    • Prepare and distribute Segment-specific management reports with commentary

    • Manage pipeline and financial flash reporting

    • Manage the development of Segment / LOB / Region / Project level rolling budget / forecast process, timetable, and KPI’s

    • Complete special projects to advance financial analysis and quality of reports to support management decisions

    • Improve documentation of existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for process enhancement or automation

    • Participate in the financial close, month-end reporting, and consolidation of actual results

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • The internship is designed for driven analytical candidates with a strong academic background, preferably in business or real estate. Applicants should be self-motivated, creative, and disciplined, and exhibit a demonstrated interest in finance and/or the commercial real estate industry.

    • Current college junior or senior pursuing bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university (major in business, accounting, economics, finance, data analytics field preferred)

    • Requires knowledge of basic financial terms, concepts, and accounting principles

    • Desire to work in a global company in a finance capacity, commercial real estate industryinterest a plus

    • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

    • Experience with Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, etc. a plus

    • Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively present information to supervisors and finance management

    • Ability to understand and articulate commercial insights

    • Detail-oriented and highly organized

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Solid written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

    • Demonstrated leadership experience

    • Strong academic background and GPA
