    MUELLER – ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CREDIT ANALYST I

     

     

    Mueller, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening in our Financial Shared Services Department for an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Credit Analyst I.  This position is located at Mueller's Shared Services office in Decatur, Illinois and will report to the Director of Financial Shared Services.      

    The primary function of the ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CREDIT ANALYST I is to perform accounts receivable & accounting functions necessary for the day to day updating and maintenance of the accounts receivable for Mueller Co. & its subsidiaries.  This position will also track and maintain contact orders and bonding information for the direct sales to construction companies.  Additionally, this person will perform a wide range of accounting and accounts receivable tasks including monthly close activities, customer account reconciliation, and period close duties as they relate to the A/R function. 

    Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

    Application of payment receipts to customer accounts in a timely and accurate manner

    Administer company credit application process:

    • Review credit application for necessary information
    • Obtain third party information on potential customers
    • Tracks legal approval of purchase order review and credit due diligence for each contract order.
    • Ensures that all necessary bond filings/notices are made in a timely manner
    • Releases orders once all necessary approvals are obtained.

    Files payment remittance documents, correspondence and invoices.

    Send customer account statements

    Monitors customer accounts to ensure all bond claim deadlines are met.

    Research and resolve payment discrepancy on accounts as required.

    Creates new files and enters and updates address and account information into ERP system.

    Perform a wide range of accounting and accounts receivable tasks including monthly close activities, data entry and reporting as requested. 

    Plan, organize, and participate in accounts receivable operational process improvement activities.

    Support internal and external audits with analysis and data.

    Carry out additional job responsibilities and duties as required.

    Required Qualifications:

    • A minimum of three (3) years of previous job experience relating to accounting, accounts payable, etc.
    • Intermediate computer experience with particular proficiency in formula-based programs such as Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to work in a team setting and gain trust and respect of various persons of authority throughout Mueller’s various locations.
    • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills

     

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field
    • Strong experience in mainframe programs such as AS400/JD Edwards (JDE).
    • Strong Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Experience with Automated Payables/Expense Programs such as Tungsten, Concur and TMS.

    Primary work hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position does have a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Overtime may be required on an intermittent basis. (This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay.)

  • Qualifications
    • Ability to read and interpret ladder logic diagrams, logic diagrams, process flow diagram, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
    • Solid knowledge of electrical theory.
    • Skilled in use of basic electrical testing and measuring instruments.
    • Able to use PCs running Windows operating system.
    • Basic troubleshooting and operation of PLCs and VFDs.
    • Knowledge of occupational hazards and related safety practices.
    • Safety conscious work ethic always for the protection of self and all others in the work area.
    • Excellent communication skills. Ability to speak, read and write the English language preferred.
    • Ability to work well with others.
    • Able to speak, hear, walk, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Capable of working in confined spaces.
    • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
    • Available to work days, nights, and weekends as directed by management.
    • Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results individually and in a team environment.
    • Maintain a current Florida Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.

     

    SHIFT:

    Must be able to work day shifts, afternoon shifts, night shifts, swing shifts, weekends, and overtime as directed.
