    Flexion is seeking a Remote Product Owner to join our Flexion team to support a large agile Health IT program in the Maryland/Virginia/Washington DC area. The team’s mission is to improve the program in the areas of security, reliability, and efficiency.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accountable for product vision, direction, and the product backlog as well as ensuring that stories are ready for development
    • Interface with stakeholders, garnering client trust while also seeking client input in order to build consensus
    • Be an objective listener
    • Ensure that the product backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders
    • Managing product backlog and prioritizing the items in the Product Backlog
    • Make product decisions
    • Interface with the team, answering questions, communicating decisions, and empathize with team constraints
    • Creates compelling product vision, develops and executes product roadmap with a focus on measurable outcomes, tracks and regularly shares progress with stakeholders and team
    • Collaborates with the team and stakeholders to employ Agile methods, processes, tools, and metrics to deliver value which includes ongoing product backlog refinement, product roadmap, and release planning
    • Engages and collaborates with the team to create and manage Agile artifacts (e.g. Product Roadmap, Backlog, Release Plan) and information needed for prioritization decision-making and regularly assess features and costs to determine whether and when to proceed. Responsible for accepting product deliverables

     

    DESIRED REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong DevOps experience and understanding.
    • Strategic thinker, analytical and outcome-driven
    • A servant leadership attitude and skills to gain credibility, garner respect, and balance business priorities and opposing viewpoints, while adhering to Agile concepts and principles. Experience with enabling teams to self-organize to resolve problems efficiently and effectively
    • Working knowledge of Agile practices. Understands the fundamentals of iterative development, incremental delivery, backlog management, burn down metrics, velocity, and story definition
    • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to connect, engage, and influence the team and stakeholders
    • Advocate for the team and negotiate with business/corporate areas
    • Solid analytical skills, creative problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail
    • Ability to work with minimal direction, flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and schedules, handle multiple issues simultaneously, and to manage stressful situations.
    • Basic knowledge of technical concepts, architectural principles to drive scalable solutions.
    • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) knowledge and experience
    • 8+ years of relevant experience
    • Bachelor’s degree
