The RURAL INSTITUTE invites applications for an Accessible Technology & Media Design (ATMD) Specialist (Computer Support Specialist II) position. This position supports a variety of print, video and web-related technology, and graphic design needs of the Rural Institute faculty and staff. This includes designing, implementing and supporting traditional and interactive media such as documents, websites, videos, reports, brochures, presentations, and other media resources. The ATMD specialist serves as an “accessibility expert” to ensure that media and documents are developed in an accessible format meeting WC3 and Federal Section 508 standards. The ATMD specialist designs training materials, gives presentations, and provides technical assistance related to accessible technology and media development. The ATMD is expected to remain up to date on AT applications and devices, including their maintenance, update, and repair.
The ATMD reports directly to the Rural Institute’s Public Communications, Education and Data Manager and is co-supervised by the MonTECH Program Director. Most tasks require a high level of communication with program and project leadership across the Rural Institute, including regular coordination with the Rural Institute IT Manager/Technology Director.

Position Details
POSITION TITLE: Accessible Technology & Media Design (ATMD) Specialist (COMPUTER SUPPORT SPECIALIST II)
POSITION NUMBER: NEW
DEPARTMENT: Rural Institute
WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time 0.875FTE (35 Hours a week), Monday through Friday, 12 months/year
SALARY: $19.29/HR – Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Six months minimum
