    ** The Opportunity:**

    The Artist Management (AM) team at NAS is responsible for overseeing the growth, development, internal deployment and overall employee experience of the studio's creative and production talent. We are seeking a Director, Artist Management to lead and scale the Artist Management function in our growing Burbank studio. This leader will own the vision, strategy, and execution for all aspects of artist management in their region, ensuring that our teams and productions are resourced, supported, and empowered to do their best work while working collaboratively and in alignment with other NAS Artist Management leaders globally.

    This role will be a key member of the NAS Talent leadership team, building on top of an already high-performing team who are accountable for shaping the artist & talent experience, building dream teams and driving operational excellence across crewing and studio-focused initiatives. This is a highly strategic and influential role, requiring a blend of people leadership, business and animation production acumen, creative talent management and a deep understanding of the animation talent and production landscape.

    What You'll Do:

    • Vision and Strategy: Drive the long-term vision and strategy for Artist Management at NAS Burbank, ensuring alignment with studio and company-wide objectives. Collaborate with senior leaders to establish and execute talent strategies that support studio growth and creative excellence.
    • Lead and Develop: Build, lead, and inspire a team of Artist Managers, fostering an inclusive, high-performing, and accountable culture. Provide clarity, context, and coaching to ensure ongoing growth and development.
    • Resource Planning, Staffing, and Compensation Planning: Support workforce planning by leading and laddering up crewing strategies, resource allocation, and including leading the annual compensation review cycle for production employees.
    • Recasting and Internal Transfers: Oversee and inform decisions on artist and leadership recasting in partnership with Production, ensuring optimal project assignments that align with both studio needs and individual career growth. Inform and manage processes for redeploying artists between productions, maximizing utilization, and minimizing downtime.
    • Artist Support, Performance, and Talent Development: Champion initiatives that drive efficiency, engagement, and scalability across the studio and Artist Management teams. Establish and oversee performance and development processes, including regular feedback. Develop and implement strategies for artist engagement, training, mentorship, upskilling, and career progression, including building a robust pipeline of future leaders and creative talent in partnership with Training and Talent Development.
    • Change Management: Proactively identify and assess contingency plans for risks related to talent, production cycles, and resource planning. Define, implement and communicate initiatives that align talent initiatives to evolving business needs.
    • Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy: Serve as a key leader for Artist Management in senior leadership forums, advocating for artist and craft-department needs and negotiating for resources. Partner cross-functionally with HR, Production, Technology, and other internal and external partners to align global talent strategies and ensure consistency across the studio.
    • Data-informed Decision Making and Systems Optimization: Leverage workforce analytics, headcount data, and hiring metrics to inform scenario planning and operational decisions. Oversee the implementation and optimization of artist tracking and workforce planning systems and databases to support data-informed decision-making.
    • Special Projects and Studio Initiatives: As needed, lead or participate in special projects related to talent, production, or studio initiatives, including talent branding, external partnerships, and event strategy.
    • Champion Inclusion and Culture: Lead by example with humility, empathy, and open-mindedness, imbuing Netflix's cultural values and tenets into you and your team\s work. Champion a culture of inclusion, transparency, and respect, ensuring all artists, talent and leaders have the opportunity to thrive at NAS and that studio leadership understands their voices and perspectives.

    ** What You'll Need:**

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in Artist Management, Talent Management, Production Leadership, or HR, with significant experience at the functional leadership level-ideally within Animation, Visual Effects, Games, or Entertainment Production.
    • Demonstrated success in setting and executing talent strategies at scale within a high-growth, creative environment.
    • Experience building and implementing artist and talent focused programs.
    • Strong background in people leadership, strategic planning and change leadership.
    • Experience influencing and articulating priorities with senior leaders and cross-functional partners that result in successful collaboration and partnerships.
    • Deep understanding of the full animation pipeline and the intricacies of animated feature production.
    • Demonstrated success supporting diverse and global teams, with a plus for experience supporting various employment types.
    • Passion for building inclusive, high-performing teams and developing future leaders.
    • Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to integrate analytical insights and human-centered intuition into decision-making.
    • Strong judgment and decisiveness - you listen deeply, read the room well, and operate with tact and empathy across teams and cultures. You know when to push, when to pause, and how to surface what's unsaid to keep forward momentum.
    • Insatiable curiosity to learn new domains, keep up with industry innovation, and constantly ask 'why'.

    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

    This role is based in the US.

    At Netflix Animation Studios, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $220,000 - 352,000.
