    MANAGER, PORTFOLIO OPERATIONS - PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT GROUP (BOSTON)

     

    OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT 

    The Manager, Portfolio Operations role represents a new opportunity within the Portfolio Management Group to expand your skills and experience in multiple areas.  In this role you will work in lock step with the Senior Director of Global PMG Operations overseeing a highly performing global portfolio of data center assets.  PMG Operations administers policies and procedures while simultaneously formulating strategic initiatives that drive portfolio growth.

     

    THE ROLE

    This role focuses on the administration of corporate governance and critical compliance policies.  Your time will be spread among various functions including requests associated with capital expenditures, acquisitions, and leasing opportunities.  You will support collaboration with various teams across disciplines including operations, finance, legal, and sales; and work with these teams to ensure timely reporting of audit requests, REIT compliance, quarterly market reviews, and budget planning.  In this role you will also be a key contributor to establishing and maintaining relationships with various third-party brokers.  You will play a key role in highly visible ad-hoc reporting requests from senior leadership.  This is the ideal role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses exceptional organizational skills, excels at multi-tasking and who can adapt quickly to changing priorities.

    • Manage and conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses;
    • Effectively communicate in written and oral formats to a range of situations and audiences;
    • Provide powerful facts and analyses that outline solutions and drive change;
    • Identify information sources, gather and interpret data, and present findings to senior management;
    • Collaborate with Senior members of the following teams: Legal, Operations, Tax, Finance, Design and Construction;
    • Build strong, collaborative relationships with team members and foster a productive cross-functional teamwork environment;
    • Possess unbridled organizational skills, and the flexibility to pivot to meet changing demands;
    • A positive “can do” attitude; and
    • A solid team player who's also an independent thinker.

     

    THE REQUIREMENTS

    To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

    • A bachelor's degree. Concentration in finance or commercial real estate preferred but not required.
    • 5+ years of professional experience in operations. Experience in real estate analysis or asset management; commercial leasing; or commercial lending is preferred.
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities effectively.
    • A goal oriented mindset, a deep sense of ownership, and the ability to multi-task under time constraints.
    • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
    • Working knowledge of Argus, Yardi and Excel.
    • Ability to work diligently in a fast-paced environment; willingness to operate with a sense of urgency and produce quality work product under strict time constraints.
    • A professional and articulate presence and comfort interacting with senior executives.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Analytical skills; including the following:
      • Comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements, budgets and financial forecast models.
      • Analyzing the financial impact of capital allocation decisions and thinking creatively in order to manage risk and maximize returns.
      • Summarizing property and financial performance through evaluation of various data sources including operations and capital expenditures, financial forecasting, job cost accounting, project budgeting, variance analysis and expense reconciliations.
    • The ability to effectively respond, verbally or in writing, to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints.
    • The ability to make insightful presentations and respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders, clients, customers and the general public.
    • Willingness to travel as needed.
