As intern, you will: -Research report requirements for the programmers to determine the scope of reports changes needed. -Analyze and revise reports. Make recommendations that will improve performance and design. -Create plan for testing changes data validation and parallel reporting -Work with business users to ensure reports meet their reporting requirements. -Move approved reports to production and setting them up either as interactive reports or schedule to run automatically through our scheduler system. -Ensure department standards for reporting are followed. -Track projects utilizing project management software. Payroll Research Another major initiative this year is to analyze payroll data for issues and trends. You will work with the HCM Systems Manager to: -Learn payroll processing flow -Analyze data for issues, exceptions, and trends -Aid in research to answer ad hoc inquiries from business -Work with users to develop new reports and gain approvals PREVIOUS PROJECTS In the past, interns in Genesco IT have participated in the following projects: -Report migration from Impromptu 7.4 to Cognos 10.2.2 -Sales reports migration from Power Play 7 to Dimensional Reports in Cognos 10.2.2 -French Conversion of Reports in Cognos 10.2.2 -Migration of Loss Prevention reports to the Cognos 10.2.2 -Database Migration Project. (GRDW Shutdown/RDW Migration) -Creation of web app for capturing construction information -Creation of web app for capturing user definitions of product -Creating data base procedures to support web applications -Design of data base structure used for web applications -Migration from Trinisys 2.5 to 3.6 -Maintaining security for the various Trinisys web apps -Migration of project management from JTrac 2.1.1 to JIRA 7.2.1 -Minimum Requirements REQUIRED SKILLS -Computer Science/Information Systems majors. -Adaptable - adjusts effectively to changes in processes and requirements. -Initiative someone who takes prompt action to accomplish objectives. -Decision-making someone who will take action consistent with available facts, constraints , and probable causes. -Collaborator someone who works well as part of a team. -This internship is for the duration of the spring semester starting in January through May of 2019.
