    Quality Technician ITW Labels 5 reviews - Bogart, GA Job Summary Assists Quality Manager with ensuring that work teams are meeting customer expectations for quality and service by developing procedures, overseeing internal auditing functions and monitoring implementation of systems improvement. Assist Quality Manager with implementing and maintaining ISO program (as appropriate). Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. Aids in the design and development of equipment and systems and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers. Responsibilities also include providing equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force and acting as technical liaison to the sales team. Essential Functions These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation. * Coordinates quality objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other company personnel to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. * Coordinates root cause/corrective action investigation and documentation with supervisors and other company personnel. * Assists in making first proof inspection of press production run including documentation in accordance with work instructions and customer communication. * Trains employees. Identifies areas of strength and weaknesses to aid the employee in continuous performance / process improvement. * Assists with implementing Quality Monitoring System for each critical activity as outlined in the ISO program. * Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality. Acts as a communication liaison between departments to facilitate internal and external corrective action. * Maintains UL/CSA, Reach & RoHS records and ensures customer products and constructions meet UL/CSA criteria, where required. Interfaces with UL and other regulatory Auditors during audits. * Work with production personnel as it relates to test orders, innovation projects, material subs, etc. * Lead and participate on project teams and all activities related to the development of products for customer. Is an active member of the 80-20 team and employs the ITW tool-box to run and improve operations. * Provide support and quality standardization improvements.

    • Manage multiple assigned projects and activities to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement goals while meeting planned deadlines agreed between Company and the customer. * Follows prescribed safety rules and fosters an environment where employee safety is a top priority. Other (Non-Essential) Functions Includes functions which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be assigned to other employees as part of a Reasonable Accommodation under the ADA. * Stay abreast of the latest trends in the labels industry. To be a leader in innovation, we must be aware of the latest technology and products as they relate to our business. * Performs other duties as assigned. Position Qualification Requirements Education & Experience: The minimum education required for this position is an Associate Degree in quality and/or engineering plus 2 to 5 years related (including industry) experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ISO certified plus AQSC quality engineer experience and UL experience preferred. Skills and Abilities which may be representative but no all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position: * A technical aptitude and broad understanding of ITW Labels products, materials, capabilities, and services. * Requires a creative, problem solving mindset with a sense of urgency and a responsive, customer-minded attitude. * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and email communications. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals. * Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, sales representatives and employees. * Ability to comprehend and apply the principles of advanced mathematics and statistical theory. Ability to work with complex mathematical and statistical concepts such as probability and statistical interference, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions. * This position requires an ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. * Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills. * Ability to contribute independently as well as in a team environment. * Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities utilizing 80/20 skill sets. Physical Activities which are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job: * The physical demands required while performing the duties of this job include: required regularly to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must sometimes lift/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. * The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal. Physical, Visual and Mental Demands or Environmental Conditions: The performance of this position may require occasional exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and steel-toe shoes. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
