Talent Acquisition Specialist MAA Corporate - Memphis - Tennessee/en-US/MAA/job/MAA-Corporate---Memphis---Tennessee/Talent-Acquisition-Specialist_R0003190/apply The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition and provides support to recruitment and employment activities for the company including interviewing, recruiting and referring candidates for posted job openings. Those values include: * Appreciating the uniqueness of each individual * Communicating openly and with integrity * Embracing opportunities * Doing the right thing at the right time for the right reasons Duties and Responsibilities: * Recruits all types of positions for MAA from various sources; makes contacts with recruiters, professional groups, operational leaders and others who can assist in finding qualified individuals for open positions posted job openings. * Sources and interviews candidates for MAAs posted job openings including clerical, technical, professional and management roles. * Uses the applicant tracking system of record to mine resumes and source internal and external candidates. * Assists team in determining best interview techniques, designs structured interviews and assesses candidates utilizing interviewing skills. * Partners with Talent Acquisition team to assist managers and supervisors in recruitment strategies. * Ensures selected candidates successfully complete and pass required pre-employment background checks and screening (e.g., drug screen, motor vehicle record, licensure, and certification). * Prepares salary offer recommendations for selected candidates and/or current incumbents at the request of management by calibrating the skills, experience, and pay rates of similarly situated associates with the pay range and budget guidelines. * Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business. Required Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in business administration, human resources or a related field and two years of professional human resources experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience * Experience with employment and recruiting required Preferred Qualifications: * Direct experience with recruiting software packages Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge and clear understanding of applicable employment and other human resource-related laws * Knowledge of recruiting and interviewing techniques * Skill and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing * Skill in effective time management while handling multiple tasks * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and common application software Physical and Environmental Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
