Netflix Animation Studios is on a mission to entertain the world with bold, immersive animated films that are timeless and impactful. We are paving the way for the future of animation by building a community of amazing artists and talent across three vibrant locations globally. Come join us!

    The Opportunity

As the Manager, Events & Workplace Netflix Animation Studios, you are part of creating the NAS cultural ecosystem and community. You don't just execute events; you collaborate and help drive a global strategy designed to cultivate an environment where world-class artists thrive. Serving as a key partner to the VP, Studio Operations, you will translate executive vision into tangible studio experiences. You will bridge our local creative hubs with the global Corporate Events team, ensuring a unified Netflix Animation presence across Burbank, Vancouver, and Sydney. Your leadership extends beyond our walls, driving external-facing initiatives in partnership with Talent Acquisition and Artist Management to solidify our standing as an industry leader. In addition to event strategy, you will oversee aspects of the physical workplace experience, ensuring the studio environment remains a world-class destination for our talent.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Cultural Programming: Execute the "North Star" for community engagement, ensuring every initiative aligns with NAS's long-term talent attraction, retention, and brand goals.
    • Production Environment Understanding: Leverage your deep knowledge of animation pipelines to time events, ensuring they provide a boost-not a distraction-to production schedules. Lead the timing and deployment of initiatives to maximize impact during critical milestones (e.g., greenlight celebrations, crunch time, wrap milestones, etc) without disrupting delivery schedules.
    • Global Event Coordination: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NAS within the broader Netflix Corporate Events ecosystem. Collaborate and influence global initiatives to ensure they resonate with our specific creative audience.
    • Multisite Workplace Oversight: Serve as a key liaison to our global workplace teams in support of setting and elevating the standard for employee experience across our studio locations in Burbank, Vancouver, and Sydney. Partner with local Facilities teams to ensure a consistent "look and feel" while maintaining the strategies set forth by NAS Workplace leadership.
    • Stakeholder Navigation: Act as a strategic right-hand to the VP, Studio Operations, providing regular visibility into project statuses and blockers. Navigate complex dynamics, synthesizing varied viewpoints from creative leads and corporate partners into a cohesive, actionable plan.
    • Budget & Logistics: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of events, including budget management, vendor relations, and schedule communication. Negotiate vendor contracts and implement rigorous reporting to demonstrate ROI and spend efficiency.
    • People Leadership: Directly lead and mentor a high-impact team. Responsible for professional development and day-to-day workflow, providing guidance and clear context to ensure the team remains high-performing and aligned with Studio goals.

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    • A Culture Architect: You don't just plan parties; you curate experiences. You have a pulse on what makes an artistic community thrive and understand that culture is a business-driver that moves the needle on employee sentiment and brand perception.
    • Operational Excellence: You come to the table as a large-scale and organized thinker. And are able to anticipate roadblocks before they happen. You leverage data and project management frameworks to anticipate risks and scale operations seamlessly.
    • Influential Communicator: You are as comfortable presenting progress to Studio Leadership as you are negotiating technical load-ins with facilities and production crews.
    • Adaptable & Resilient: Stay calm under pressure and pivot quickly when production needs change or a global event requires a shift in strategy.
    • An Empowering Manager: You lead through context, not control. You are committed to clearing the path for your direct report to do their best work within the studio.

    Required Experience & Skills:

    • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in event production, workplace experience, or studio operations, preferably within a global entertainment or tech environment.
    • 3-5+ years of experience managing operations or events across multiple geographic regions and international time zones.
    • Proven Track Record: Experience acting as a liaison for senior executives and managing large-scale major studio event budgets.
    • Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of animation or VFX production lifecycles, including "crunch" periods and delivery milestones.
    • Vendor Management: Success in managing a portfolio of external vendors and an interest in the intersection of physical workspace and employee sentiment.
    • People Management: Experience in a direct supervisory role, with a focus on mentorship and workflow optimization.
    • Experience supporting multi-site operations (global experience a plus).
    • Familiarity with animation studio and/or production environments.
