    ABOUT MYND:

Headquartered in Oakland, Calif., Mynd was named the #1 fastest-growing private company in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times in 2020. Beyond just property management, Mynd also helps both retail and institutional investors with buying and selling, financing, insurance, and more. With 7000 units under management, Mynd is the first prop tech company of its kind to unlock the potential of a PMaaS architecture which combines technology and expert teams to deliver best-in-class services for investors. Mynd has a mission to create happy homes and healthy investments.

We're always on the lookout for top talent. Mynd is not only made up of real estate professionals but also skilled individuals across a wide variety of industries — there is no ideal employee profile other than having a passion for active problem-solving and an impeccable work ethic. We seek those ready to hit the ground running, and those who want to join a team driven by data and by great customer experience. Join us!

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

Mynd is looking for a highly driven senior product manager to lead a new team and help us build a new investment property buying engine. The product scope could expand into selling properties and other financial services. This suite of products is a critical part of Mynd's product vision. This role would start as an IC with a path to build a team under you as the product and company scales.

Here are some problems you can expect to solve. If these get you excited then you should apply!

    • How should we let retail owners discover and purchase investment properties? What about large enterprise customers that want to buy properties at scale?
    • There is a risk to every potential investment purchase. How do we design an underwriting mechanism to mitigate risk and drive meaningful returns? Does the algorithm change if we are just buying one property vs. dozens?
    • Investment properties are scattered all across the US. How should we source and integrate inventory into our data warehouse?
    • How should we inform owners when to buy, where to buy, or when to sell?
    • There is significant operational complexity to buying homes at scale. What operational tasks (e.g. closing process) should we automate versus using people to manage? What partnerships should we explore to expedite these operational tasks?

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Establish a strong product vision and strategy to inform the management team how to execute and scale this new product area.
    • Partner with a new business lead and engineering lead in developing a new suite of products to help Mynd reach its vision.
    • Be an expert at analyzing market data and researching housing trends.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 8+ years experience building software as a Senior Product Manager or equivalent experience.
    • Experience within Investing and/or Real Estate, FinTech, AdTech desired, but certainly not required.
    • Highly analytical and strive to always make data-driven decisions.
    • Demonstrated success in delivering new products and features from customer/market research & data insights.
    • Beyond just shipping new products, you care about continuous product improvement and can optimize for shipping a portfolio of small, medium and large releases.
    • Technical background working with engineering and data teams.
    • Confidence in professional aptitude and ability to effectively convey skills and knowledge to non-technical stakeholders and external customers.
    • Demonstrated success in a high-growth, operationally intense environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence cross-functional teams and executives.
    • Preferred: Working knowledge of financial and accounting topics (eg, cap rates, cash on cash return, internal rate of return, underwriting, capex, legal compliance, etc.)
    • Preferred: Familiarity with data science, analytics and machine learning concepts.
