For more information about the firm please visit our website at - About the Position Nuveen Advisory Services (NAS) is the client-facing division of Nuveen that houses professionals who develop, market and sell investment strategies and solutions to clients. We are currently seeking an entrepreneurial leader to join the NAS Business Strategy & Management Team. The group is responsible for business strategy development and planning, executing cross-cutting strategic initiatives, and driving business performance and management processes. In this highly visible role, you will help develop the long-range plans for Nuveen and partner with senior leaders to identify, develop, evaluate, prioritize and deliver strategic initiatives across the organization. You will work as part of small project teams to solve complex problems and implementation issues critical to Nuveens success. The position represents an excellent opportunity to: * Be exposed to and influence the agendas of senior management * Develop expertise in a variety of functions and businesses * Gain exposure to other roles and lines of business in the company * Be mentored and coached by experienced managers on problem solving, analytical, communications and leadership skills Major Responsibilities: The following duties are generally representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive: You will identify, structure, manage, and deliver high-visibility corporate projects and/or specific work streams aligned with the following areas of responsibility. * Strategy Development and Planning Set the strategic vision, direction and near-term priorities for Nuveen supported by competitor/industry research and operational and financial analysis * Execute cross-cutting strategic initiatives Identify, frame and implement specific cross-cutting strategic initiatives that are critical to the success of Nuveens overall strategy * Business Performance and Management Processes (i) Implement and drive management processes to monitor business performance versus targets and course correct, as required, (ii) Develop and monitor cascading metrics and goals for business areas aligned with strategic plan, and (iii) Oversee decision framework to allocate and re-prioritize resources as required to achieve vision & strategy In order to successfully deliver the projects and/or workstreams, you will be responsible for: * Utilizing strategic frameworks to structure problem solving and identify issues * Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses of operational and financial data * Performing competitor/industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources * Identifying implications of data and analysis * Developing and delivering concise communication materials for senior management * Working collaboratively and building trust with team members across Nuveen and TIAA Required Skills and Experience: * Four-year degree with strong academic performance and demonstrated leadership ability * MBA preferred, but not required * Minimum one year of strategy consulting experience with a management consulting firm or within a financial services corporation * Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Desired Skills and Experience: * Ability to identify issues and analyses and has end-to-end generalist problem solving skills * Ability to navigate independently up and down the organization and achieve goals without direct control over resources * Able to prioritize with a clear focus on results a self-starter, able to work independently and multi-task Equal Employment Opportunity is not just the law, its our commitment.
