Project Manager - Business Transition and Move Management
The primary responsibilities of this position consist of planning, managing and executing large decommissioning projects for corporate and/or industrial clientele. This is a lead management position responsible for the overall direction of activities associated with multiple projects.
While possessing strong written and oral communication skills, this individual must also have the ability to effectively and professionally work with people of various disciplines and levels within a corporate environment, including: real estate, facility management and IT teams, C-level executives, department heads, administrative assistants, and end-users; as well as the project team, including: construction managers, architects, engineers, building managers, physical movers, liquidators, MEP contractors and charitable organizations.
DUTIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Engage internal CBRE team members i.e., Project Managers and Real Estate Brokers to sell decommissioning services
Market and sell to external clients including relationship building, RFP responses and presentations in the pursuit of new business opportunities
Develop roles and responsibilities for CBRE team members including managing resource requirements, staff productivity and growth
Develop overall decommissioning strategy including a detailed plan for the entire project and each discipline required to complete the services
Develop roles and responsibilities for client’s internal team members and external vendors including managing resource requirements
Coordinate and chair decommissioning meetings
Develop overall decommissioning budget and cost tracking for projects
Review lease requirements and develop strategy for meeting key dates and sign-off
Develop decommissioning schedule including detailed break-down of major tasks and resources required
Develop project contingency plans
Develop scopes of work for each subcontracted service associated with the decommissioning
Develop quote and submit to client for approval
Ensure CBRE has a fully executed contract with the client prior to any work beginning
Ensure vendors provide appropriate insurance requirements as well ensure CBRE has a fully executed contract prior to any work beginning
Create and provide reporting on internal and external service level agreements and KPI’s
Audit move decommissioning for best practices, lessons learned and process improvement
Conduct landlord/client sign-off meeting project/lease end date requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and a minimum ten years of related experience in move management, facility management, interior design, architecture, engineering, or other related field.
Solid understanding of current business technologies (telecom, IT)
REQUIRED SKILL SET
Ideally candidate will also have Decommissioning management experience
Knowledge of various commercial furniture brands helpful
Ability to quickly gather and understand detailed information about the client company, their industry and business operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have the ability deal with people in all levels of the organization (admins to CEO)
Must be able to provide calm reassurance to client and help them through very stressful phases of projects
Leadership abilities to take charge of a project and gain the trust and confidence of the client, landlord and internal CBRE team members
Ability to schedule and organize tasks based on client needs and project constraints
Excellent time management skills to start and complete multiple layers of tasks concurrently
Strong attention to detail
Excellent logic and reasoning skills
Solid understanding of current business technologies (telecom, IT)
Ability to build internal and external business relationships leading to business opportunities and continued growth
Willingness to work weekends and possibly some holidays
Ability to travel throughout the U.S.
