     A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPERATIONS MANAGER

    In this business operations position, you ensure that we are meeting requirements for safety and compliance regulations. You oversee all operational functions in the center including property maintenance, project management, and tenant coordination. Your goal is to enhance the property value at the lowest possible cost to stay within budget. Additionally, you oversee housekeeping and security services to ensure that contractual obligations are met. Using your working knowledge of business operations, you oversee and approve the development of a preventative maintenance program for all assigned areas.

    Property management is not all you do. Leveraging your excellent people skills, you maintain open communication with town officials to help determine what improvements would be mutually beneficial for both the community and the company. You also coordinate and conduct monthly safety meetings. As you review day-to-day incident reports, you develop and implement strategies to provide higher levels of safety. Keeping updated on fire codes and other safety regulations is a high priority for you.

    You also develop and maintain a budget. This is to ensure the appropriate property maintenance at the highest possible level while keeping within budget. Cost-effective solutions are out there, and you work hard to find them. You negotiate and manage contracts, review leases, and implement energy conservation measures. A Jack of all trades, you help in every area of property management, preventative maintenance, and project management as needed. You take pride in overseeing well-managed properties for the benefit of the community while maximizing profits for businesses!

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OPERATIONS MANAGER

    • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field OR equivalent experience
    • 5+ years of experience in general building operations, property management, or project management
    • 1 year or more of supervisory experience
    • Proficiency with Microsoft programs

    Experience with Excel is required. Access databases and building energy management systems is preferred but not required. Are you able to read and interpret blueprints? Do you have strong communication and interpersonal skills? Are you organized and able to effectively prioritize and delegate multiple tasks?
