We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced full-time escrow officer to oversee all aspects of mortgage closings. You’ll play a key position on a supportive team where you can truly shine. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Obtain, review, and clarify purchase agreements, contracts, title commitments, and lender instructions to ensure successful closing

• Interact and coordinate with industry contacts such as realtors, loan officers, underwriters, brokers, buyers, and sellers

• Create and deliver closing settlement packages to agents, buyers, sellers, brokers, and lenders

• Collaborate with the title examiner to issue the title policy

• Work in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations when dealing with escrow transactions and escrow accounts

• Completes real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements; clearing titles; assembles, prepares, and reviews closing documents; disburses funds

• Determines escrow requirements by studying and clarifying buyer, seller, and lender instructions

• Obtains clear title by ordering title reports; resolving title defects; satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principals

• Establishes escrow account by depositing funds; maintaining records

• Prepares transaction documents by completing forms and statements; collecting and reviewing existing documents

• Completes calculations by prorating taxes and interest

• Completes closing transaction documents by assembling documents; reviewing papers with parties; explaining provisions and procedures; answering questions; checking documents for completeness and accuracy; obtaining signatures

• Completes closing by recording and filing documents; preparing and distributing final closing statements and title

• Prepares closing statement by utilizing lender instructions

• Closes out escrow account by balancing and disbursing funds

• Complies with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements

• Identify opportunities to improve the escrow process for operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction

• Manages, motivates, coaches, trains, encourages, and supports a team of amazing escrow assistants

QUALIFICATIONS: MUST HAVES

• Based in California
• 3+ years related experience managing escrow transactions
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry field
• Good client relations and organizational skills
• Team management and builder accomplishments strongly preferred
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information
• Ability to deal with multiple types of roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, agents and brokers, mortgage loan originators, notaries, and other service providers
• LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Escrow Officer certification from the Escrow Association or completion of escrow officer training program by a title company or bank
