Job Description:
The Senior Accountant, Tax Planning will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of our real estate platform by shaping key elements of tax planning, compliance, and accounting. This role provides the opportunity to partner across the tax department, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence strategic decisions as we continue to expand both our REIT and Investment Fund businesses. Reporting to the Director, Tax Planning, this position offers exposure to complex transactions, international tax matters, and forward-looking planning initiatives that directly impact the business.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with legal, accounting, and tax teams to prepare documentation related to tax structuring and planning.
Partner with external advisors on technical and planning matters.
Maintain and analyze the rent projection model for the senior housing portfolio.
Support transfer pricing studies and related documentation.
Track and maintain intercompany agreements, including associated forecasting.
Prepare tax projections to support planning and compliance requirements.
Monitor transactional activity and facilitate communication within the tax department.
Assist with international tax matters, including distribution tax withholding.
Prepare REIT compliance testing and related surveys.
Research federal, state, and local income tax issues and assess the impact of legislative changes.
Support department leadership in identifying process improvements, driving efficiency, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
