Job Description:

The Senior Accountant, Tax Reporting will report to the Manager, Tax Reporting and Fixed Assets.The primary responsibility for this position will be maintaining the Investment Management portion of the company’s ERP system and ensuring the integrity of all legal entity general ledger/financial statements.The position will also provide support for the fixed asset analyst.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain entity setup within Yardi, preparing load files for new entities and requesting modifications to existing entities from mergers, reorganizations, divestitures, etc .

• Maintain legal relationships within Yardi.

• Maintain ownership commitments between properties and entities within Yardi.

• Process Investment Management rollups monthly and verify accuracy between rollups at various levels; ensure consolidated legal entity financials tie to combined financials.

• Provide legal entity financial statements on an appropriate basis (disregarded, stand alone, full consolidation, etc) to Tax and Legal for tax returns and other government reporting.

• Assist in preparation of financial projections and depreciation for taxable REIT subsidiaries.

• Assist with tax basis information for “live” tax entities.

• Assist with routine fixed asset responsibilities and special fixed asset projects; serve as backup for the Fixed Asset Analyst

• Assist with other projects as needed and requested by Tax or other departments.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3-5 years of practical experience in corporate accounting with an emphasis on multi-entity reporting and experience with equity method and consolidated accounting methods

• Working knowledge of GAAP and tax rules and experience with legal documents and tax forms is preferred.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and have an aptitude for utilizing various software systems.

• Self-starter with the initiative to learn independently with the support of internal resources and be comfortable interacting across disciplines to implement and maintain cross-functional business processes impacting legal entity reporting .

• Real estate/REIT knowledge and/or Yardi Voyager experience preferred.
