Financial Accountant 8824
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of sales/use tax returns
- Tax research – ability to perform complex tax research on sales/use tax, property tax, and other areas as needed
- Assist cross-functional teams in proper setup of customer and product records
- Lead cross-functional team for state sales tax audits
- Internal audits of customer and product records to ensure compliance with applicable laws
- Assist in preparation of property tax renditions
- Ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance for all tax (sales, income & property) and insurance balance sheet accounts
- Prepare all required information for property and casualty insurance renewal
- Report timely and accurate information to the Accounting Manager and Controller
- Demonstrate in depth knowledge of accounting principles
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedure, and internal controls
- Assist with the month-end close process
- Assist in preparation and review of multiple branch/location income statements
- Assist in preparing audit information at year-end
- Ability to efficiently work toward and consistently meet deadlines
- Perform special projects and other ad-hoc duties as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related
- 2+ years’ experience in preparing & filing sales/use tax
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Ability to provide regular and thorough communication
- Ability to identify and implement best practices, think strategically, and plan for the long-term success of the organization
