Job Description

As a CREDIT PROCESSOR, this role will require you to follow a thorough process (review, research, analyze, audit, verify) of submitted automotive loan applications and adhere to basic tenets of sub-prime auto credit (ability to pay, stability, debt repayment history, deal structure & collateral). In addition, you will communicate and explain decision to appropriate individuals. Program eligibility and funding guideline verification procedures must comply with internal policies, fair lending practices, and other applicable state/federal laws. You will be required to meet set goals/targets for productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and relationship management (between Underwriting and the Dealership Manager).

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Work as a team member with the underwriting and sales staff to accomplish monthly loan volume objectives.

• Ensure all contract and applicant information is accurate.

• Follow-up with dealer clients on any outstanding stipulations, verifications, or documents needed to complete the processing of loans to ensure timely funding of contracts.

• Conduct thorough customer interviews to validate information.

• Assist Dealerships in managing dealer and customer fraud by ensuring thorough and proper verifications are being completed.

• Escalate any potential problems that may result in fraud or losses to management.

• Assist management to ensure Dealerships complies with company policies.

• Assist with final analysis, verification, and funding of loans based on internal lending guidelines, fair lending practices and the ECOA (Equal Credit Opportunity Act).

• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial and/or personal information.

• Interact daily with underwriting, the Funding Manager, dealership personnel, sales team, and requested creditors to gather information needed to verify credit decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of Consumer Auto Finance and/or underwriting experience highly preferred.

• Exceptional delivery of customer service, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and the embodiment of company core values.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

• High school graduate/GED. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

• Strong decision making, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to calculate semi-complex mathematical equations, ratios, values and other related calculations.

• Skill operating commonly used office technology such as MS Office, MS Outlook, web search and web-based services.

• Strong desire to achieve and succeed.
