    Job Description

    Westside Habitats LLC is a Los Angeles-based property management company, specializing in revitalizing apartment buildings in some of the city’s best neighborhoods. We are looking for a driven and intelligent person to complement our team. The accountant/accounting analyst prepares, analyzes and reconciles general ledger accounts, monthly journal entries, preparation of financial statements and supports the Accounting Managers. Property Management experience preferable.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·          Work collaboratively with other accounting staff within organization

    ·          Research and provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise

    ·          Investigate and provide feedback on accounting irregularities

    ·          Utilize technical skills to create charts and graphs for visual understanding

    ·          Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

    ·          Daily review/reconciliation of Bank accounts

    ·          Prepare financial reports on a determined schedule

    ·          Reconcile ledgers monthly and quarterly

    ·          Assist with tax return preparation

    ·          Ensure proper capitalization of capital expenditures

    ·          Prepare and analyze balance sheets

    ·          Prepare annual IRS form 1099 for vendors

    ·          Utilize math skills to analyze key financial data

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    ·          AppFolio or other property management software

    ·          Knowledge of general ledger systems and procedures and financial chart of accounts

    ·          Hands-on experience working with general ledgers

    ·          Knowledge of data analysis, budgeting, and account reconciliations

    ·          Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

    ·          Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in various PC software applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

    ·          Strong written and verbal communications skills

    ·          Strong critical thinking skills

    ·          Comfort preparing and delivering reports

    ·          Critical math skills and a proven ability to difficult calculations

    ·          Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively

    ·          Self-starter and a team player

    ·          Detail oriented and very organized

    EXPERIENCE

    1.      Minimum of three (3) years accounting experience

    2.      Master's degree in accounting, finance, business or related fields preferred

    3.      A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) title is preferred

    4.      Prior experience using database tools and Excel

    5.      Salary commiserate with experience.

    6.      Job Type: Full-time

    7.      Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
