Position Overview
Our confidential client (a well-established multidisciplinary engineering firm similar to Thomas & Hutton) is seeking a Civil Engineer Designer – EIT with a strong focus on Mission Critical site design. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced technical environment, excels in underground utility modeling, and communicates confidently with internal teams and external stakeholders.
You’ll support complex site development work, prepare civil design documents, and play a key part in utility planning for high-demand Mission Critical campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed site development construction drawings for Mission Critical projects.
Design and model underground utility infrastructure (water, sewer, storm, power, communications) using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Develop and review reports, specifications, plans, and permit packages.
Analyze existing site conditions and entitlement data to assist with site selection.
Participate in multi-discipline design meetings and provide technical guidance.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and review work produced by junior team members.
Handle client interaction professionally and clearly.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
EIT certification OR ability to obtain within 6 months.
3+ years of civil site design experience using Civil 3D.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and engineering manuals.
Ability to work the following in-office/client schedule:
Mon–Thurs: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Fri: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Excellent communication skills and a track record of managing multiple concurrent tasks.
High level of client service orientation and problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
4–5 years of civil engineering experience.
Experience with surface creation and underground utility modeling in Civil 3D.
Experience with plan and profile design for water/sewer lines; duct bank design is a plus.
Demonstrated success in fast-paced, high-output engineering environments.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain PE within 12 months.
