Civil Engineer – Land Development (Mid-Level, 3–8 Years)

Position Overview
A multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with 3–8 years of experience in civil/site and land development. This role supports commercial, education, municipal, and infrastructure projects, and is open to candidates located in Overland Park, Chicago, Schaumburg, or Davenport, with one total hire being made across these markets.
You’ll handle design, production, and project coordination, working alongside senior engineers and cross-functional project teams. Strong Civil 3D capability and clear communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design drainage, stormwater, sanitary sewer, water, roadway, and parking systems.
- Prepare exhibits, site plans, and construction documentation using Civil 3D.
- Utilize stormwater management software for design and permitting.
- Analyze reports, drawings, surveys, and technical data.
- Conduct site investigations and support construction activities.
- Track and maintain project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with senior engineers, architects, PMs, and project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 3–8 years of civil/site development experience.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D and related design tools.
- Ability to interpret codes, standards, reports, and construction drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to mentor junior staff.
- EIT preferred; PE a plus.
- Familiarity with permitting, surveying, and construction processes.
- U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship).
