Construction Administrator – K-12 Projects

Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 (plus time and a half for OT)
Position Overview
The Construction Administrator supports the planning, coordination, and administration of K-12 educational facility projects, including new school construction, large-scale renovations, and capital improvements. This role is responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in strict compliance with district standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
Serving as a vital liaison, the Construction Administrator facilitates seamless communication between architects, contractors, consultants, and school district leadership. From pre-construction through final project close-out, this individual manages the administrative and operational workflows necessary to maintain high-quality educational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Administration: Manage construction and renovation documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications; track project schedules, budgets, and milestones.
Construction Coordination: Participate in site inspections and progress reviews; monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to contract documents and construction standards.
Financial & Contract Management: Review and process invoices, contractor pay requests, and change orders; track expenditures against approved budgets and assist with bid packages/procurement.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work meets local building codes, State of Georgia construction requirements, and school district standards; maintain organized digital and physical project files.
Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for school administrators and community stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and potential operational impacts.
Project Close-Out: Oversee punch lists, final inspections, and the turnover of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranty documentation.
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in construction administration, project coordination, or facilities construction.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and project delivery processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and construction management software.
Excellent organizational skills with a focus on document control and managing multiple concurrent projects.
Valid ability to navigate active construction sites and travel within the district.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Specific experience managing K-12 school construction or public-sector projects.
Experience working directly with school districts or educational facility guidelines.
Familiarity with Georgia Department of Education facility guidelines and public procurement/bidding processes.

Overtime: Time and a half for hours worked over 40.
