Are you a licensed Professional Engineer ready to step out of the production silo and into the driver’s seat of Florida’s most complex "mega-projects"? We are seeking a Deputy Project Manager – Alternative Delivery to join our elite transportation team in Orlando. This is a career-accelerating transition role designed specifically for an ambitious engineer who is ready to bridge the gap between technical design and full-scale project management leadership.
Working directly alongside senior firm leadership, you will help steer high-visibility infrastructure programs for FDOT, CFX, and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. You won't just be managing a team; you will be developing the financial, strategic, and client-facing expertise required to become a Lead Project Manager. If you have the technical foundation and a hunger for project ownership, this role provides the mentorship and the backlog of long-term projects to define your career for the next decade.
Core Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery: Partner with Senior PMs to deliver complex FDOT and tolling authority projects from initial concept through final design and construction support.
Financial & Resource Stewardship: Manage project scope, resource allocation, and financial performance, including invoicing, forecasting, and rigorous cost control.
Technical Engineering Leadership: Provide high-level design oversight and QA/QC for roadway, drainage, traffic, or structural disciplines, ensuring all deliverables meet elite quality standards.
Alternative Delivery Execution: Coordinate the unique workflows of Design-Build and Alternative Delivery projects, maintaining a sense of urgency and technical integrity.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain high-level relationships with FDOT and local agencies; attend progress reviews and contribute to high-stakes project pursuits and proposals.
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Lead and sync cross-functional teams (roadway, drainage, utilities, etc.) to ensure a frictionless design-to-construction transition.
Team Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and high-performance engineering.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (Required).
Experience: 7–15+ years of experience in transportation engineering, specifically with FDOT or similar DOT agencies.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with a strong "project ownership" mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Alternative Delivery: Hands-on experience with Design-Build project cycles.
Software Mastery: Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, or Bentley Suite.
Sector Expertise: Familiarity with limited-access roadway design, capacity improvements, and drainage modeling tools (ICPR, StormCAD).
