Position Summary
Hall Engineering Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with 2–7 years of professional experience supporting the design of electrical and lighting systems for commercial buildings and infrastructure environments.
This position is ideal for an engineer who wants to:

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering & Design
Perform design of electrical power distribution systems, including service equipment, switchboards, panelboards, feeders, grounding, and branch circuitry.
Develop single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, load schedules, panel schedules, and equipment layouts.
Conduct electrical engineering calculations including:
Load calculations
Voltage drop
Short circuit / available fault current (as assigned)
Transformer sizing
Conductor and overcurrent protection sizing
Coordinate electrical systems with:
Mechanical HVAC equipment and controls
Plumbing equipment
Fire alarm interfaces
Architectural layouts and reflected ceiling plans
Support designs for renovations, expansions, and new construction across multiple sectors.
Lighting & Controls
Assist with lighting design development, lighting control intent, zoning, and switching strategies.
Support interior and exterior lighting systems including architectural, landscape, and site lighting.
Prepare lighting documentation including:
Lighting plans
Lighting fixture schedules
Control diagrams (where applicable)
Revit / BIM Production (Critical Requirement)
Build and maintain detailed Revit models (MEP) for electrical systems.
Produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD workflows.
Coordinate BIM content with internal team members and external consultants.
Participate in clash resolution and model quality reviews.
Engineering Documentation & QA/QC
Prepare and edit:
Technical reports
Design narratives
Scope documents
Permit submittal sets
Support internal QA/QC checklists and drawing reviews.
Ensure compliance with:
NEC
local AHJ requirements
project standards and client guidelines
Client / Project Coordination
Participate in coordination meetings and multidisciplinary design reviews.
Support project managers with:
design progress tracking
deliverables
scope clarifications
submittal/RFI response assistance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline)
2–7 years of electrical engineering design experience (AEC/MEP environment preferred)
Strong proficiency in Revit (MEP) for electrical modeling and construction documentation
Working knowledge of:
electrical distribution systems
lighting design fundamentals
engineering documentation and plan production
Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple projects
Strong communication, coordination, and organization skills
Preferred Qualifications (Strong Pluses)
EIT preferred (or on PE track)
Exposure to:
emergency/standby power systems (generators, ATS)
fire alarm coordination
site lighting and controls
photometrics (experience helpful but not required)
Experience with infrastructure and/or specialty environments (aviation, ports, entertainment, etc.)
Desire to grow into:
