    Position Overview

Are you a technical visionary ready to transition from production to true project ownership? We are seeking a high-caliber Electrical Engineer to steer the design and execution of sophisticated electrical systems across a premier portfolio of education and institutional projects. In this role, you aren’t just designing circuits; you are architecting the environments where the next generation learns and grows. You will serve as a technical authority and a key client-facing ambassador, blending rigorous engineering with strategic mentorship and business development participation.

Joining our team means entering a culture that prioritizes professional autonomy within a highly collaborative framework. The firm empowers engineers to act as entrepreneurs, providing the resources of a leading MEP powerhouse with the personal touch of a tight-knit, forward-thinking studio. Here, your career trajectory is defined by your impact—offering a clear pathway to senior leadership, high-level client engagement (including industry galas and events), and the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the Texas educational landscape.

    Core Responsibilities

    • System Architecture & Design: Lead the full-lifecycle design of complex electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power, lighting controls, fire alarms, and integrated technology systems.

    • Technical Stewardship: Perform and oversee advanced engineering calculations and the production of high-fidelity documentation in AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring every deliverable exceeds firm and industry standards.

    • Project Leadership: Manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal oversight, maintaining accountability for schedules, budgets, and the technical integrity of the final product.

    • Mentorship & Team Growth: Supervise and cultivate the next generation of talent, providing direct guidance and reviews for interns, designers, and EITs to elevate the team’s collective proficiency.

    • Client Advocacy: Represent the firm as a primary point of contact in client meetings and industry functions (receptions, golf tournaments, and galas), translating complex technical concepts into strategic value.

    • Compliance & Quality Control: Serve as the final authority on code compliance and project specifications; review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, and seal final contract documents as the Engineer of Record.

    • Field Engineering: Conduct on-site evaluations and prepare comprehensive field reports to verify design conditions and ensure construction aligns perfectly with client objectives.

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

    • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (or EIT with a clear and immediate path to licensure).

    • Software Proficiency: Expert-level command of Revit and AutoCAD; proficiency in applicable engineering calculation software.

    • Experience: Proven ability to manage multiple MEP projects independently within a consulting environment.

    • Acumen: Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including a working knowledge of project accounting, marketing, and HR integration within an engineering firm.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Sector Expertise: Extensive experience delivering MEP solutions specifically within the K-12 or Higher Education markets.

    • Licensure Depth: Experience sealing and managing full contract document packages.

    • BD Drive: Prior involvement in client-facing business development initiatives or local industry associations.
