    They are seeking a Senior Forensic Engineer to perform structural damage investigations to determine the cause and extent of damage to a building structure as a result of a vehicle impact, tree impact, fire, flood, foundation movement or change in the supported loads. The candidate will be responsible for identifying the extent of the damage, performing relevant calculations, and detailing the repairs required to restore the structural integrity of the structure. Projects may involve residential, commercial, and industrial types of construction with multiple building material types including masonry, wood, concrete and steel.

     

    You Will:

    • Provide structural damage assessments and repairs for tree and vehicle impacts, fire and water restoration, and broken/cut roof trusses.
    • Provide expert forensic analysis to clients on an array of multi-disciplined engineering projects, with an unbiased and honest conclusion.
    • Write technical reports providing detailed and accurate information on completed projects.
    • Consistently communicate and document your communication with clients to provide timelines and updates.
    • Provide excellent customer service to the company’s internal and external customers.
    • Conduct special structural inspections including concrete, masonry, structural steel, and various special cases, such as drilled piers and post-installed anchors.
    • Design and engineer a variety of projects, including but not limited to residential remodel (masonry, concrete, steel, aluminum, and wood), commercial/industrial structures, and solar structures.
    • Support other project managers and engineers with their projects as needed.
    • Present progress and status updates, integrating feedback from key stakeholders as needed.
    • Communicate with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that company quality of work is maintained.
    • Seek opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and develop new client relationships.
    • Learn and adhere to company policies and standards, using appropriate checklists to ensure quality and consistency.

    What You Bring to the Team:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or related engineering discipline.
    • PE License as an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Arizona or have an active NCEES record or be eligible to obtain within 6 months of employment.
    • 5 or more years’ experience in forensics engineering, failure analysis and/or field inspections.
    • Have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
    • Strong computer skills a plus including experience with AutoCAD, MathCAD, Excel, and RISA
    • Strong technical writing skills with experience using Microsoft Word in addition to general computer skills such as using Microsoft Calendar, Outlook, etc.
    • Experience working on multiple projects while prioritizing effectively, managing competing expectations, and meeting deadlines.
    • Impeccable attention to detail and delivery of high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Effective working independently with minimal supervision, while interacting well with others.
    • Superior customer service skills, be team oriented and enjoy service-oriented work.

      Physical Requirements:

      This role requires time spent time spent outside the office gathering information from the field such as: photographs, measurements and performing condition assessments. Approximately 50% of the hours worked will spent outside the office performing tasks in the greater Phoenix valley. Therefore, we believe the ideal candidate will be able to perform these physical tasks:

    • Frequently required to stand on one’s feet for prolonged periods of time.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 40 LBS.
    • Frequently required to climb onto first and second story roofs, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
    • Frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    • Frequently required to reach with arms and hands.
    • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
    • Frequently required to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time.

    Target Comp Range:

    $110,000 - $140,000 base salary depending on experience.
