Position Title: Project Designer
Position Overview:
The Project Designer primary responsibility is to perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation. The Project Designer is responsible for architectural design projects and often coordinates project design efforts, which includes developing planning and creative-design concepts for projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
• Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
• Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
• Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
• Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
• Assist in managing project budgets, client expectations, and team staffing
• Prepare presentation and design drawings and details
• Perform additional duties and/or assist with other projects as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience with developing details and providing planning and design support in the preparation of design development
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
• High level of proficiency in Revit AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software programs
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Extensive knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections and specifications
• Graphics visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Professional demeanor and presentation
• Strong prioritization and planning skills. Ability to successfully manage projects and tasks with competing deadlines and priorities
• Clear understanding of and ability to work with architectural drawings sets
• Ability to work well in a team oriented and fast paced environment, and as an independent contributor
• Exceptional service orientation and commitment to excellence
• Strong organizational and follow up skills
• Ability to adapt and adjust quickly to changes
• Ability to travel as needed
