    Looking for a detail oriented Structural Engineer to prepare structural calculations and details of structural elements for commercial, industrial and residential projects. Construction administration responsibilities include responding to RFI’s, plan check comments and reviewing construction submittals for conformance to contract and design documents. The ideal candidate can work with minimal supervision, perform special inspections and other fieldwork as required. Projects involve multiple building material types including masonry, wood, concrete, steel, and CFS.

     

     

    You Will:

    • Consistently communicate and document your communication with clients to provide timelines and updates.
    • Provide excellent customer service to the company’s internal and external customers.
    • Design and engineer a variety of projects, including but not limited to residential remodel (masonry, concrete, steel, aluminum, and wood), and commercial/industrial structures.
    • Support other project managers and engineers with their projects as needed.
    • Present progress and status updates, integrating feedback from key stakeholders as needed.
    • Communicate with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that company quality of work is maintained.
    • Seek opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and develop new client relationships.
    • Learn and adhere to company policies and standards, using appropriate checklists to ensure quality and consistency.
    • Conduct special structural inspections including concrete, masonry, structural steel, and various special cases, such as drilled piers and post-installed anchors.
    • Review and seal structural calculations and construction documents completed by yourself or others.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

    What You Bring to the Team:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or related engineering discipline.
    • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering a plus.
    • PE (SE Preferred) License as an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Arizona or have an active NCEES record or be eligible to obtain within 6 months of employment.
    • 6-10 years’ experience in structural engineering.
    • Experience stamping structural calculations and drawings.
    • Have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
    • Strong computer skills a plus including experience with AutoCAD, and structural analysis using Enercalc, Ram, MathCAD, Excel, and RISA 3D.
    • Strong technical writing skills with experience using Microsoft Word in addition to general computer skills such as using Microsoft Calendar, Outlook, etc.
    • Experience working on multiple projects while prioritizing effectively, managing competing expectations, and meeting deadlines.
    • Impeccable attention to detail and delivery of high-quality, error-free, code-compliant work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Effective working independently with minimal supervision, while interacting well with others.
    • Experience mentoring junior engineers.
    • Superior customer service skills, be team oriented and enjoy service-oriented work.

       

       

      Physical Requirements:

      This role requires some time spent outside the office gathering information from the field such as: photographs, measurements and performing condition assessments. Approximately 0%-15% of the hours worked will be spent outside the office performing tasks in the greater Phoenix valley. Therefore, we believe the ideal candidate will on occasion be able to perform these physical tasks:

    • Occasionally required to stand on one’s feet for prolonged periods of time.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 40 LBS.
    • Occasionally required to climb onto first and second story roofs, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
    • Occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    • Occasionally required to reach with arms and hands.
    • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
    • Occasionally required to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time.

    Target Comp Range:

    $100,000 - $135,000 base salary depending on experience and licensing.
