    Position Overview:

    In this key role, the Mechanical HVAC Engineer Department Head will oversee a talented team, dedicating 50% of their time to leadership and staff management and the remaining 50% to hands-on design and production engineering. The ideal candidate will possess a Professional Engineering License, extensive experience in HVAC design using Revit, and a proven track record in managing a team working on projects within public schools, higher education, and healthcare sectors.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership and Team Management (50%):

    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Allocate resources effectively, ensuring project teams are well-supported and motivated to achieve project milestones.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and facilitating professional development opportunities for team members.

    Design and Production Engineering (50%):

    • Oversee and actively contribute to the design of HVAC systems using Revit for projects in public schools, higher education institutions, and healthcare facilities.
    • Manage and execute hands-on production engineering tasks, collaborating with the team to deliver high-quality and innovative solutions tailored to the unique requirements of educational and healthcare environments.
    • Lead by example, showcasing excellence in design principles, attention to detail, and adherence to project timelines.

     

    Project Management

    • Manage projects for public schools, higher education institutions, and healthcare facilities from conception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and client expectations are met.
    • Maintain a balance between managerial responsibilities and direct involvement in project execution.

     

    Regulatory Compliance

    • Stay abreast of industry codes, regulations, and standards, ensuring all designs adhere to applicable guidelines for public schools, higher education, and healthcare projects.
    • Provide guidance to the team on navigating and implementing regulatory requirements specific to these sectors.

     

    Client Engagement

    • Collaborate directly with clients in public schools, higher education, and healthcare sectors to understand their unique needs, offering technical expertise and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
    • Act as a key point of contact for clients, resolving issues and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

     

    Qualifications:

    1. Professional Engineering License in the state of Florida.
    2. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    3. Proven experience leading a team of engineers in the HVAC field, with a focus on public schools, higher education, and healthcare projects.
    4. Proficiency in using Revit for HVAC system design.
    5. Strong project management skills with a successful project delivery track record.
    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
