    Principal Architect – Retail
    Location: Orlando, FL

    Position Overview:
    A leading architecture and engineering firm is seeking a seasoned Principal Architect to lead its retail design practice in Orlando. This role is responsible for establishing strategic direction, driving business growth, and ensuring design excellence across a portfolio of high-impact projects. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong track record in retail architecture, business development, and team mentorship.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the strategic vision, quality assurance, and overall performance of the Orlando office.

    • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

    • Partner with business development and technical leaders to grow market presence and expand project reach.

    • Direct day-to-day operations, including staffing, resource planning, financial oversight, marketing, and project execution.

    • Ensure compliance with policies, contracts, project budgets, and quality control standards.

    • Mentor and develop internal talent to support a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

    • Collaborate with local and national experts to deliver innovative and efficient project solutions.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architecture with a focus on retail projects and team leadership.

    • Architectural licensure preferred.

    • Demonstrated success in client acquisition, retention, and project delivery.

    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Comprehensive understanding of design processes, construction administration, and quality management.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

    • Primarily office-based with occasional travel for client meetings or project oversight.

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and manage time-sensitive tasks.

    • May require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
