    Position Overview

    This is a strong opportunity for a Professional Civil/Environmental Engineer to join Carollo Engineers, a leading engineering firm dedicated exclusively to water. With more than 90 years of experience, Carollo specializes in planning, designing, and constructing water, wastewater, stormwater, and reuse facilities, helping clients solve complex infrastructure and public health challenges.

    This role is ideal for an engineer with 4-8 years of directly relevant water and wastewater experience who wants to work alongside highly knowledgeable technical professionals in a firm focused entirely on the water sector. You will support planning, design, permitting, analysis, construction-phase services, and field activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects while building long-term technical and project delivery expertise.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Perform engineering work related to water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure
    • Support engineering planning and design projects for water, wastewater, stormwater, and reuse facilities
    • Prepare technical reports, memoranda, plans, specifications, and electronic deliverables
    • Develop cost estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
    • Perform system modeling, data entry, data analysis, permitting support, and alternative analysis
    • Apply engineering principles, critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques to solve project challenges
    • Provide engineering services during construction
    • Participate in field activities, including pilot testing and project-related site work
    • Coordinate with project teams, clients, and technical specialists to support high-quality project delivery
    • Contribute to sustainable and resilient water infrastructure solutions that protect public health and support community needs

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering discipline
    • Licensure: Registration as a Professional Engineer required
    • Experience: 4-8 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering
    • Technical Expertise: Experience supporting water treatment, wastewater treatment, conveyance infrastructure, stormwater, reuse, planning, design, permitting, modeling, or construction-phase services
    • Engineering Judgment: Ability to apply engineering principles, critical thinking, analysis, and innovative problem-solving techniques
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Client & Team Coordination: Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
    • Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Work Style: Highly motivated, articulate, self-starting, and effective in a team environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced Education: Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
    • Water Sector Focus: Strong interest in building a long-term career in water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and public infrastructure consulting
    • Construction Support: Experience providing engineering services during construction
    • Field Experience: Exposure to field activities, pilot testing, data collection, or facility evaluations
