Position Overview

Are you a licensed surveyor ready to transition from manual data collection to high-level project stewardship? We are seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to serve as a technical linchpin within our Charlotte operations. In this role, you aren't just managing coordinates; you are the authoritative voice ensuring the integrity of complex land boundary and development projects. You will bridge the gap between field precision and office strategy, overseeing the lifecycle of diverse surveys while mentoring the next generation of technicians.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Project Stewardship: Architect and oversee the full project lifecycle, including scheduling, budgeting, personnel allocation, and resource management to ensure elite-level deliverables.

• Precision Drafting & Design: Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to transform raw field data into sophisticated boundary, topographic, and easement maps.

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Coordinate and supervise multiple field crews and CAD technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and meticulous detail.

• Business Development: Act as a key ambassador for the firm, cultivating and managing high-value relationships with both public and private sector clients.

• Technical Authority: Assist management with the development of complex estimates and proposals, ensuring all field packets and deliverables meet rigorous quality standards.

• System Integration: Masterfully operate and oversee the use of advanced survey equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, Scan Stations, and sUAS (Drones).

• Quality Assurance: Conduct final reviews of Plats, ALTAs, and property descriptions to ensure 100% compliance with state standards and client specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.

• Software Proficiency: Advanced command of AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey computation software (Carlson Survey, Trimble Business Center).

• Technical Experience: Proven track record managing Easement/Right-of-Way Surveys, Plats, ALTAs, and complex topographic surveys.

• Field Competency: Professional experience operating high-end survey instrumentation (GPS, Robotic Total Stations).

• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate technical survey data into actionable insights for project managers and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-State Licensure: Dual licensure in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

• Advanced Technology: Experience with 3D Laser Scanning and sUAS (Drone) data processing.

• Industry Leadership: A desire to participate in professional surveying societies and internal mentorship programs.
