Project Director – Architecture
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Company: MCG Architecture (Represented by Luxus Group)
Salary Range: $110,000 – $150,000 annually (DOE)
Total Compensation Package: $150,000 – $185,000+ (including full benefits, performance incentives, and retirement contributions)

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Impact)

Project Leadership & Management

• Lead projects from budgeting, proposals, design, through completion

• Ensure teams meet quality, schedule, contractual, and budget goals

• Mentor staff and foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment

• Participate in project staffing, monitor labor and billable time, and oversee resource allocation

Client & Business Development

• Maintain and grow client relationships; identify new business opportunities

• Support proposals, negotiate contracts, and monitor project revenue

• Collaborate with other offices to leverage business opportunities

• Provide client referrals and maintain strong professional networks

Contract & Budget Oversight

• Review and approve project agreements, budgets, and fee structures

• Monitor project expenses, labor, and profitability

• Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and financial tracking

Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure technical and design standards are met across all projects

• Maintain awareness of codes, ordinances, and licensing requirements

• Review team deliverables, correspondence, and project documentation

• Sign and stamp drawings where applicable

Office & Team Leadership

• Contribute to office management and strategic decisions

• Provide mentoring, feedback, and professional development to project teams

• Support a culture of ethics, safety, and professional standards

• Participate in office functions and cross-office collaboration

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Licensed Architect (state of practice)

• 10+ years of experience in architectural design and project leadership

• Proven experience managing large projects, budgets, and teams

• Strong contract negotiation, client management, and business development skills

• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication abilities

Preferred:

• Experience mentoring teams and fostering professional growth

• Technical proficiency across all project phases, from schematic design through construction closeout

• Experience with multiple project types including commercial, institutional, and multi-family
