About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to lead land development projects from concept through completion. This is a high-impact leadership role that blends technical expertise with strategic project delivery, offering the chance to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives on managing complex projects, coordinating across disciplines, and delivering results that exceed client expectations. You’ll work closely with design teams, contractors, municipal agencies, and clients to ensure projects are executed with precision, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management
Lead and manage land development projects, ensuring they meet client objectives, budgets, and timelines.
Develop and maintain project schedules, resource allocations, and delivery plans.
Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and contract specifications.
Track and report on project progress, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
Design & Engineering Oversight
Provide technical leadership on grading, stormwater, utility, and infrastructure design.
Review and approve engineering plans, drawings, and calculations for accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and environmental consultants to refine and execute designs.
Regulatory Compliance & Permitting
Manage the permitting process, including communications with municipalities, zoning boards, and environmental agencies.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety standards.
Oversee and secure necessary permits and environmental approvals.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors.
Conduct regular project meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and support staff.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring expectations are managed and exceeded.
Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Present project updates and milestones to clients and leadership teams.
Budget & Financial Management
Manage and monitor project budgets and schedules.
Prepare cost estimates, bid documents, and negotiate with contractors/vendors.
Approve invoices and track financial performance through project closeout.
Risk Management
Identify potential risks and obstacles early in the project and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure site safety and regulatory compliance throughout all phases.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Experience: Minimum 8+ years in land development, civil engineering, or project management.
Strong understanding of site development processes, civil design, and construction techniques.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate project activities.
Preferred Skills
Experience with environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Familiarity with GIS software.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience in both residential and commercial land development.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 annually (DOE)
