Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Water Resources Engineering to lead and grow water resources projects within a multi-disciplinary civil engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to manage high-profile stormwater, drainage, and hydrologic/hydraulic projects while mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships.
The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across stormwater master planning, drainage design, H&H modeling, erosion control, and permitting combined with strong project management and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute watershed studies, stormwater master plans, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (1D/2D modeling), drainage design, stormwater management design, erosion control, and NPDES permitting.
Oversee design and inspection of traditional and green infrastructure / LID BMPs in both urban and rural settings.
Prepare construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates for water resource projects.
Lead FEMA-related studies and Letter of Map Change (LOMC) submittals.
Develop proposals, scopes, and fees; track budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, agencies, and internal multi-discipline teams.
Provide mentorship, oversight, and training for junior staff and engineers-in-training (EITs).
Conduct site visits, field inspections, and provide construction-phase support.
Maintain effective client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Georgia preferred).
8+ years of experience in water resources engineering.
Demonstrated experience in:
Hydrologic & Hydraulic Modeling
Stormwater Management design
Green Infrastructure / LID design
Erosion & Sediment Control design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcMap, and H&H software applications.
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Georgia and/or South Carolina.
Familiarity with ICPR4, HEC-RAS, XPSWMM, Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis.
Background in water quality or TMDL studies.
