Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) – Surveying Leadership | Dallas, TX | Senior-Level (RPLS Required)
About the Role
We are seeking a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to lead survey operations in our Dallas, TX office. This full-time, senior-level role is responsible for overseeing land surveying teams, delivering complex survey projects, coordinating field and office operations, and supporting business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Texas RPLS with strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and a proven track record managing surveying deliverables from start to finish.
What You’ll Do
Lead, manage, and execute land surveying services across public and private sector projects.
Supervise field crews and office staff on tasks including boundary surveys, plats, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and construction staking.
Coordinate and schedule field operations, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
Process and post-process field data using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Develop and review deliverables such as metes and bounds descriptions, plats, and exhibits.
Prepare project scopes, proposals, budgets, and schedules.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, professional guidelines, and internal QA/QC protocols.
Provide mentorship and technical leadership to surveying personnel.
Engage with clients and represent the firm at industry events and business development functions.
Maintain expert-level understanding of boundary law, legal descriptions, and surveying methodologies.
What You Bring
Required:
Active Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license in the State of Texas.
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in land surveying.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience managing field staff, project schedules, and survey budgets.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and maintain quality standards across deliverables.
Preferred:
Experience in client-facing or business development roles.
Familiarity with various survey types including ALTA/NSPS, subdivision platting, easements, and construction layout.
Active involvement in industry associations and professional organizations.
